Sail Racing continues as official supplier to the Red Bull Extreme Sailing Team, headed by double Olympic champions Roman Hagara and Hans Peter Steinacher, two of the most successful multihull sailors in the world. The team is racing in the Extreme Sailing Series 2011 – the most action filled andprestigious sailing tour. Top international teams are part of the series and the tour is the hottest ticket into the international sailing world. Roman Hagara from the team comments the cooperation with

Sail Racing, – It´s great to work with such a strong brand as Sail Racing, they have realized that the sport of sailing is heading towards a more extreme form that we have never seen before. They are one step ahead of the competition in terms of function, fitting and quality. Our team, The Red Bull Extreme Sailing Team, is heading the same way and together with Sail Racing we hope to achieve our goals in future challenges.

The cooperation started 2009/2010 and the new partnership now covers two years as a start. For Sail Racing, this means possibilities to use the team as a base to develop new technologies, materials and pattern constructions for future innovations. The cooperation is also an important strategically step for Sail Racing when reaching new international markets.

The Extreme Sailing Series was created with two things in mind, action and adrenaline. A gap was seen in the Grand Prix sailing market for a fast, inshore catamaran, which would be not only exciting to watch but cost effective to run.

We already knew that the Volkswagen Eos was going to be getting GTIpower, but now it looks like the people’s automaker could be upgrading the bubbly hard top convertible’s looks along the lines of the New Compact Coupe.

When VW introduced the Eos, named after the mythological Greek goddess of dawn and wind, back in 2006 the German design team was looking for a replacement for the fun loving Golf based drop top Cabrio. So when the new Eos first debuted as the Concept C it was given a friendly face filled with warm round features to continue what the former cabriolet had started. This rendering takes the unique retractable hard top Volkswagen in an all new aggressive direction inspired by the Compact Coupe and the sixth generation GTI.

When VW introduces a new convertible, it traditionally consists of a new front clip, from the front fenders forward, being grafted onto the existing model featuring updated lighting and a few new design cues. While this rendering follows the cost effective production convertible trend, it also adds a few touches from its luxury car cousins at Audi. So aside from the sleek LED headlamps framed by a pair of sharp points that continued the edges of the hood extending down on either side of the grill, larger openings in the front bumper and pronounced lip spoiler; this updated Eos incorporates the four ring automaker’s tornado line running along the car’s belt line as well as a set of slick triple spoke rollers.

This past summer, Kenji Aoki photographed a live 5ft bluefin tuna for a NYTimes cover story. The fish was kept still using acupuncture and was fed through a tube in the back of its mouth.

Aoki recently moved from Tokyo to New York in early November 2010. He has been represented by Michael Ash Partners for the last 4 years. Coming from a design background, his work has the simplicity, beauty and elegance that sets him apart from his contemporaries. He does not rely on retouching and his work requires minimal post; the image “mother earth” has none.

Mix together a beautiful European-like city with attractive residents (call themporteños), gourmet cuisine, awesome shopping, a frenzied nightlife and top-drawer activities, and you get Buenos Aires, a cosmopolitan metropolis with both slick neighborhoods and equally downtrodden areas – but that’s part of the appeal. It’s an elegant, seductive place with a ragged edge, laced with old-world languor and yet full of contemporary attitude. BA is somehow strangely familiar, but unlike any other city in the world.

In between cutting-edge designer boutiques, ritzy neighborhoods and grand parks are unkempt streets full of spewing buses and bustling fervor. Seek out classic BA: the old-world cafés, colonial architecture, fun outdoor markets and diverse communities. Rub shoulders with the formerly rich and famous in Recoleta’s cemetery, making sure to sidestep the ubiquitous dog piles on the sidewalks. Fill your belly at aparrilla (steak restaurant), then spend the night partying away in Palermo Viejo’s trendiest dance club.

We came across this ingenious development; via the Raising the Roof property blog. Regatta Jakarta is a nautical themed design conceived by the renowned Atkins-design studio. It is a mixed-use development situated in Pantai Mutiara Canal Estate on the shores of the Java Sea.

The centrepiece of the Regatta is its iconic 160 metre high, arch-shaped five-star hotel tower that represents a ‘lighthouse’ or ‘beacon’ surrounded by 10 residential apartment towers which each representing ships sailing around this ‘beacon’, hence the name ‘Regatta’ was coined.

Stylish design and modern colours are the DNA of scandinavian watch makers Triwa. For their new model “Nevil” the label cooperated with Swedish tannery Tärnsjö that’s known for their sustainable production. Both companies used their longtime experience and respective skills to create this casual yet elegant watch.
