Salma Hayek on the beach!

Salma Hayek was born on September 2, 1966 in the Mexican state of Veracruz. Her mother was a Spaniard, and his father – a Lebanese, so the girl got a name, which translates from Arabic as “calm”. Childhood Salma Hayek, however, was quiet. When she was sent to a Catholic school at the convent, the nuns quickly returned it back – was too restless girl! New acting Hayek tried in the series “New Dawn” (1988), and then she got the title role in the epic “Teresa” (1989-1991). This opus on workers’ living quarters was very popular, but Salma decided that its future – not Mexico City, and Hollywood. Therefore, in the early 1990′s she moved to the north.

Salma Hayek gets role in “independent” film “Mi Vida Loca”, and a year later, she met with Robert Rodriguez and receives a strong role in his telepostanovke “Roadracers”. Later, Robert Rodriguez, Salma Hayek removes a “desperate” (1995) and “From Dusk Till Dawn” (1996), and this is enough for the entrenched to an actress in Hollywood. In 2002, Salma Hayek is nominated for an Oscar for a pivotal role in “Frida”, affirming that it is not only an exotic beauty, but also a talented actress.
